In 2022, Desert View Elementary received the honor of being recognized as an Apple Distinguished School.  Desert View scholars and staff utilize technology to enhance learning in meaningful and interactive ways while incorporating computational thinking, creative communication, and innovative design in our daily lessons.  Desert View Elementary has an Innovations lab where scholars use robots, drones, and virtual reality tools in addition to iPads to engage in various challenge-based activities and enriching lessons. Technology innovations are used in every classroom and in every subject area.  For example, scholars compose original music using Garage Band during music class and design apps and build app prototypes that address real world problems. Integrating technology tools has allowed Desert View teachers to personalize learning and increase real world engagement for our scholars.
