Valencia County announces Phase II to bring broadband access to underserved local communities.
Residents in Meadow Lake and El Cerro Mission may apply for FREE, reliable broadband internet. The program is provided by Valencia County, Resound Networks and Meta (Los Lunas Data Center). Only 150 Households will be able to take advantage of the free 2-year Internet subscription. Discounted rates are still available.
Program Details:
- Must be a resident of Meadow Lake or El Cerro Mission
- Eligibility based on need with qualifying factors such as current government assistance e.g. SNAP.
- Valencia County determines eligibility.
- This program is mainly first come, first served with a priority placed on homes with school age children.

New Start Time!
School times have changed for the 2024-2025 school year. Scholars may now be on can campus no earlier than 8:40am. They should be at school by 8:55am when the tardy bell will ring.
Fourth grade scholars learned about plant life cycles and the harvesting process by growing various edible plants in our new AeroGarden units. The highlight of the unit was that everyone was able to enjoy a delicious salad made with the lettuce that we grew ourselves.
Preschool Pre-Registration will be held on Thursday, April 18th from 4:30 to 6:00 PM at Desert View Elementary. Children must be 4 years old by September 1, 2024. Each completed file will be given a number for the random selection process. Be sure to bring all required documentation. Incomplete files will not be processed.
Required documentation:
- Birth Certificate
- Immunization Records
- Proof of Residency (utility bill such as electric, gas, or telephone bill)
- Driver's License showing a physical address that determines your neighborhood school
The random selection process will occur on Wednesday, May 1st, and families will be notified via email after this date.
Ms. Lillian Lopez organized this wonderful project to spread love and comfort in our community. Scholars and staff at DVE donated socks and other comfort items, which Ms. Lopez presented to elderly men and women in nearby assisted-living facilities. The project was a great success and the recipients felt the love from DVE scholars and staff.
