Lettuce growing indoors and salads on plates

Fourth grade scholars learned about plant life cycles and the harvesting process by growing various edible plants in our new AeroGarden units. The highlight of the unit was that everyone was able to enjoy a delicious salad made with the lettuce that we grew ourselves.

Two elementary students choosing books from a cart filled with books

Through the efforts of Betty and Rick Follett and generous donations from various community organizations and individuals, DVE has received books for every scholar at our school. So far, Betty and Rick have delivered books to 17 schools in Valencia County, and they have no plans of slowing down.  We extend our sincere and heart-felt appreciation to Betty and Rick for being dedicated to promoting literacy throughout our community.

Thank you!

Ms. Lillian Lopez organized this wonderful project to spread love and comfort in our community. Scholars and staff at DVE donated socks and other comfort items, which Ms. Lopez presented to elderly men and women in nearby assisted-living facilities. The project was a great success and the recipients felt the love from DVE scholars and staff.
