Sara Graf - Principal
Twenty-six years ago, I, along with my husband, a retired veteran of the USAF, made the move across the pond from the United Kingdom to Los Lunas. Since then, Los Lunas has truly become home.
From the outset, I have been tied to Desert View's tight-knit community and its commitment to education. Starting as an educational assistant 20 years ago, I have worn various hats in the school system, evolving into a teacher, academic coach, Assistant Principal and now Principal. My dedication to nurturing scholars' growth has remained my focus throughout.
Beyond my professional roles, I am proud to have raised two daughters in the Los Lunas Schools system. Watching them graduate from Valencia High School was testament to the supportive environment this community provides. In my spare time I like to travel, craft, spend time with my family and I am an avid football fan.
As I continue to serve and give back to the community of Desert View, I am reminded that my journey has been filled with gratitude, commitment, and fulfillment. Go Jaguars!
Theresa Duran-Fuentes - Assistant Principal
My name is Theresa Duran-Fuentes, and I am proud to serve as the assistant principal of this incredible school. With 24 years of experience in education, I have had the privilege of working as both a classroom teacher and an academic coach, which has shaped my deep commitment to supporting scholars, families, and teachers.
I am passionate about literacy development, creating an inclusive environment for all scholars, and fostering scholar engagement. I believe that every scholar has unique strengths, and it is our responsibility as educators to empower them to reach their full potential. At Desert View Elementary, we strive to inspire curiosity, celebrate diversity, and cultivate a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, hiking in the beautiful outdoors, and crafting. I am excited to be part of the Desert View Elementary community and look forward to working together with families and staff to ensure a successful and joyful experience for every scholar.
